Policy updated May 1, 2018

At Zero to Five, we value and protect your privacy.

This policy explains when and why we collect information about you, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. By using our website, you’re agreeing to be bound by this policy.

Any questions regarding this policy and our privacy practices should be emailed to tracy@zerotofive.net.

Who are we?

Zero to Five is a website founded in 2014 by Tracy Cutchlow to share resources on gaining calm and confidence in parenting young children.

Information collected about you

Information about you is collected via log files and cookies, as well as by leaving comments on the site, purchasing a product, or subscribing to our newsletter. We collect information on your name, email address, website (if you leave this in a comment), IP address, the pages on the site that you visited, and when you visited them.

Financial details are collected via Gumroad or Stripe, and you can view their privacy policies at those links.

How and why we track your visit

Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to process information about the number of visitors on our site and their behavior: how people found our site and how they use it.

Google Analytics records your approximate location (your city), the type of device you are using (e.g. mobile or tablet), operating system (e.g. Windows 10 or iOS) and browser (e.g. Firefox or Chrome). None of this data can be used to identify you.

Google Analytics’ demographics and interest reporting tools allow us to review anonymous data about the gender, age, and interests of website visitors. That helps us adapt our website content to better reflect our readers’ needs. We cannot identify what information is about you.

To do this, Google Analytics uses a “cookie” on your computer. Read more about cookies below.

Leaving a comment

We love hearing from you! You may leave a comment anonymously or include your name, email address, and website. We use this information to identify you as the commenter; we do not pass this on to any third party.

Your email address will never be shown in the comment section of the site. Your details will remain in our database unless we remove them or your comment is removed from the site.

You may request at tracy@zerotofive.net that we delete the comment and remove your details at any time.

If you are under 16, you must obtain parent permission before leaving a comment.

Subscribing to a newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will ask for your email address, so that we can send you the emails, and possibly your first name. We ask for the age range of your child to allow you to choose the newsletter(s) most relevant to you.

Your data is collected and then passed to our Email Service Provider, currently Active Campaign.

You may unsubscribe at any time from a newsletter using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. Or you can email us at tracy@zerotofive.net and ask that you be removed.

Within the Email Service Provider, we track the pages that you visit and actions that you take within the emails so that we can provide a more personalized email service to you. From time to time we may include promotions for products.

When you make a purchase

If you make a purchase from Zero to Five, it will be processed by Gumroad or Stripe. Please see their privacy and data protection policies for more information on how they collect and process your personal data.

For products sold as an affiliate, the third party collects and retains their own data. We do not have access to your name or email address as part of an affiliate sale.

Advertisements

We do not use third-party advertisements to support our site.

Cookies

These are snippets of code that websites use to track your use of their site and provide the best possible experience for you.

We use them so that you don’t have to always enter your details, as well as for collecting data as part of Google Analytics (so that we can see who has visited our website and how).

You can chose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or any other website cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in your browser. Turning them off can affect how you are able to interact with websites, such as your ability to log in to services or programs.

If you wish to be removed from our database

At any point, you may ask that we remove your information from our systems. Please contact tracy@zerotofive.net with your requirements, including whether you would like a record of your data, and we will do so within a month.
